TheraBand Professional Resistance Band Set (5 Levels)
The TheraBand Professional Resistance Band Set
is the original and most trusted resistance
band system in the world. TheraBand is the
company that invented the resistance band as
a structured exercise and rehabilitation tool
in the 1970s and whose colour-coded resistance
system has become the universal standard used
in physiotherapy clinics, orthopaedic
rehabilitation centres, professional sports
teams, military fitness programmes and
commercial gyms across more than one hundred
countries worldwide. When physiotherapists
prescribe resistance band exercises, they
prescribe them by TheraBand colour. That is
how embedded this brand is in the professional
world of movement and rehabilitation.
This is not a set of cheap latex loops
sold in a bag on a market stall. This is
the same product used in hospitals and
elite sports facilities — manufactured to
medical-grade standards, tested to over
one million repetitions per band before
certification and produced under strict
quality control that ensures every band
in every set delivers exactly the
resistance its colour is supposed to
deliver, consistently and reliably
across its entire lifespan.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
This professional set contains five
full-length resistance bands in the
following resistance levels:
Yellow — Extra Light
The starting point for complete
beginners, elderly users, anyone
recovering from injury or surgery,
post-natal exercise and very light
warm-up activation work. Provides
genuine resistance with minimal
loading — perfect for relearning
movement patterns and rebuilding
strength from zero.
Red — Light
The standard entry-level training
band for general fitness beginners.
Suitable for upper body toning,
light activation exercises,
shoulder rehabilitation work,
ankle strengthening and most
beginner resistance programmes.
The most commonly used band in
physiotherapy settings.
Green — Medium
The intermediate training band
for users who have built a base
level of strength and conditioning.
Provides sufficient resistance
for most major muscle group
exercises at intermediate
fitness levels — squats, rows,
chest press movements, hip
thrusts and shoulder work.
The most versatile band in
the set for general training.
Blue — Heavy
The advanced training band for
users with established strength
levels. Provides meaningful
resistance for compound
movements, assisted pull-up
training, heavy hip thrusts,
deadlift patterns and upper
body strength work for
stronger individuals. Demands
real effort from every major
muscle group.
Black — Extra Heavy
The elite resistance band for
advanced athletes, powerlifters
and highly conditioned users.
Used for maximum resistance
band training, heavy assisted
pull-ups and pull-downs,
accommodating resistance added
to barbell movements and any
application requiring the
highest available band tension.
WHY RESISTANCE BANDS PRODUCE
RESULTS THAT FREE WEIGHTS CANNOT
Resistance bands have a unique
biomechanical property that
distinguishes them fundamentally
from free weights and machines —
and makes them more effective
than either for specific training
goals.
Free weights and machines load
the muscle based on gravity —
which means the resistance is
highest at the point in the
movement where the weight is
furthest from the body and
drops significantly at the
end range of most exercises
where the muscle is actually
most contracted. A bicep curl
with a dumbbell provides
maximum load at ninety degrees
of elbow flexion and almost
zero load at full contraction
at the top of the movement.
Resistance bands provide
increasing resistance through
the full range of motion —
reaching their peak resistance
precisely at the point of peak
muscle contraction at the end
range of every exercise. This
means the muscle is working
hardest exactly when it is
most shortened and contracted —
the opposite of what free
weights provide and the
stimulus that produces
superior muscle activation
and endurance adaptation.
This constant tension
characteristic also means
resistance bands activate
stabilising muscles,
proprioceptive systems and
smaller supporting muscle
groups that conventional
weighted exercises do not
reach effectively — making
them invaluable for injury
prevention, joint stability
and functional movement
quality.
WHAT YOU CAN TRAIN WITH
RESISTANCE BANDS
Upper Body Pushing: Chest press,
incline press, overhead shoulder
press, tricep pushdowns, tricep
overhead extensions and push-up
resistance.
Upper Body Pulling: Bent-over
rows, seated rows, face pulls,
rear delt flies, bicep curls,
hammer curls and assisted or
resisted pull-ups.
Lower Body: Squats, sumo squats,
Romanian deadlifts, hip thrusts,
glute bridges, lateral band walks,
clamshells, donkey kicks, fire
hydrants, leg press simulation
and hamstring curls.
Core: Pallof press, woodchops,
rotational core work, anti-rotation
holds and cable crunch simulation.
Rehabilitation: Rotator cuff
strengthening, shoulder
impingement rehabilitation,
knee rehabilitation, ankle
strengthening, hip stabilisation
and post-surgical rebuilding
programmes.
Warm-Up Activation: Glute
activation, shoulder activation,
hip flexor mobilisation and
full body dynamic warm-up
sequences before any training
session.
THE ADVANTAGE OF THE FULL SET
Having all five resistance levels
in a single purchase allows you
to use the appropriate resistance
for every individual exercise
rather than being locked into
one tension level for everything.
Your glutes require significantly
more resistance than your
rotator cuff. Your legs require
more resistance than your
shoulders. A single band cannot
serve all of these needs
effectively. The full set allows
progressive, exercise-specific
loading that produces far better
results than any single band can.
It also allows long-term
progressive overload — the
fundamental driver of all
fitness adaptation. As your
strength improves you move
progressively through the
colour sequence, always
working at the appropriate
challenge level for your
current capacity. The set
supports months and years
of continuous progression
without ever becoming
inadequate.
PORTABILITY AND CONVENIENCE
The complete set of five bands
rolls up to fit inside a small
pouch or bag pocket. The total
weight of the set is under
500 grams. You can carry a
complete resistance training
system in a handbag, a gym
bag side pocket, a suitcase
or a backpack.
This portability makes
TheraBand bands the ideal
training tool for travel,
hotel rooms, outdoor
workouts, office training
during lunch breaks, home
sessions when gym access
is not possible and any
situation where carrying
conventional weights is
impractical or impossible.
SPECIFICATIONS
Number of bands: Five
Resistance levels: Extra Light,
Light, Medium, Heavy, Extra Heavy
Band length: 150cm each
Band width: 15cm
Material: 100% natural latex
Latex-free option: Available
separately for latex-sensitive users
Country of manufacture: United States
HOW TO ANCHOR THE BANDS
Under feet: Stand on the centre
of the band and hold both ends
for bilateral exercises or one
end for unilateral movements.
Around a pole or post: Loop
the band around any fixed
vertical object for rowing
and pulling exercises.
Through a door anchor: Thread
the band through a door anchor
accessory at any height for
cable simulation exercises —
high, mid and low positions
all produce different exercise
variations.
Around both ankles: For lateral
band walks, clamshells and
glute activation sequences.
Doubled over: Fold any band
in half and use both layers
together to effectively
double the resistance of
that band — providing a
resistance level between
each standard colour step.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Store bands away from direct
sunlight and heat sources as
prolonged UV and heat exposure
degrades natural latex over
time. Keep away from sharp
edges and objects that could
nick or cut the surface.
Wipe clean with a damp cloth
after use. Inspect each band
before every session for
any nicks, cuts or signs
of latex degradation —
replace any band showing
surface damage before
using it again. With
proper care TheraBand
bands last for years of
regular training.
A portion of every purchase directly funds mobile clinics in underserved regions globally.
